Sonic Arts launches a new room SPEED OF SOUND.

The desire for more, better-utilized space and an improved working environment is commonplace among facility owners and executives. Acting on that desire and making it a reality is something else altogether. Last year Cincinnati's Sonic Arts, an eight-year-old company providing audio-production services for film, television, radio, multimedia and communications, made the crucial business leap from one room to two, gained 5.1 surround capabilities in one of those rooms and boosted client amenities. While most of Sonic Arts' clients tend to be local or regional and come from Indianapolis, Columbus, Dayton, Louisville and Lexington, the facility also serves clients as far away as China and Saudi Arabia. Sonic Arts now enjoys a higher profile and a busier schedule than ever before.

"If you have one room that's working a lot, you don't want to make the jump to one room that's working a lot and a second room that's not doing anything," says John McDaniel, Sonic Arts' founder and president. "We were doing a lot of crazy scheduling and working long hours. We'd reached a point where we knew we wouldn't have a second room sitting empty."
