New York would get $3.8 billion more in transportation funding under a bill passed in February by the U.S. Senate, according to a bipartisan congressional committee, but that's not enough in Republican state Assemblyman Howard Mills' opinion.
Mills, challenging incumbent U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, on Tuesday criticized the Brooklyn Democrat for approving the bill because it will give New York a smaller share of overall transportation funding compared with what the state received in 1998.
