Qld: Triple transplant man makes good progress

Doctors say triple organ transplant patient JASON GREY is making good progress afterreceiving a new heart, lungs and liver.

Twenty-five-year-old Mr GREY, a cystic fibrosis sufferer, received his new organs ina 15 hour operation at Brisbane's Prince Charles Hospital after being given less thantwo years to live.

A team of surgeons from the Heart and Lung Unit at Prince Charles and the Liver TransplantUnit at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital have carried out the life saving operation.

Hospital executive director MICHAEL CLEARY says the patient is in a stable and satisfactorycondition and is making good progress.

Dr CLEARY says Mr GREY's family have been able to visit him and will be a central partof the recovery program.
