Bvo: Australian men to play for bronze in beach volleyball

ATHENS, Aug 23 AAP - The Australian men's beach volleyball team of Julien Prosser and
Mark Williams will be eyeing a bronze medal on Wednesday after they were beaten in their
semi-final tonight.

Prosser and Williams, who played above themselves to reach the last four, were outgunned
by Spanish combination of Javier Bosma and Pablo Herrera.

The Spaniards dominated the semi-final and, after saving two match points, Prosser
and Williams went down 21-18 21-18.

The Australians will play the loser of tonight's other semi-final between Ricardo Alex
Santos and Emanuel Rego of Brazil and Stefan Kobel and Patrick Heuscher of Switzerland.

Earlier Australian women's pair Natalie Cook and Nicole Sanderson lost their semi-final
to Brazilian pair Adriana Behar and Shelda Bede 21-17 21-16 in 42 minutes.

They will play Americans Holly McPeak and Elaine Youngs in the play-off for third tomorrow night.
